Entry Formalities
All foreigners intending to visit Sikkim can avail 15 days permit for restricted areas. Permit can be obtained 24 hrs in advance from all Indian Missions abroad, Sikkim Tourism offices at Delhi, Kolkata, Siliguri & Gangtok.

Domestic and foreign tourists require special permit to go to Tsomgo & Yumthang.

YUMTHANG VALLEY (145 km from Gangtok, altitude 3564 m)
In North Sikkim, also known as 'Valley of Flowers', the best time to visit is in April & May, when the rohododendrons are in full bloom. There are hot springs, covered by a wooden shelter. To visit Yumthang one has to stay at Lachung, a small village.

LACHEN (9500 ft)
It stands on an Alpine meadow from which rise the pine clad mountains with their snowy peaks. One has to stay at Lachen to visit Guru Dongmar Lake and Chopta Valley (14500 ft).

PELLING (Pemayangtse)
In West Sikkim, 127 km from Gangtok at an altitude of 13400 ft, known for its immense natural beauty with panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt.Narsingh.
